J'ai découvert ce projet grâce au EP "Three", j'ai tellement aimé que j'ai acheté les autres disques existants dont ce second opus ! Superbe production due a Tony Lowe qui a joué avec pas mal de monde ! Apparemment, c'est un grand fan de prog rock sophistiqué. La musique est inscrite dans notre époque, mais on remarque parfois par-ci par-là des touches de prog des '70's de toute beauté. Brilliant retro/symphonic/folky prog from Norway. Pastoralia was great, but I think I like this even better! This album sounds as if they made it for me, simply love it! If you're imagining Mirage-era Camel with Norwegian woods, er, words, you'll might guess what to expect. At least, that's how I would describe it. Or just check the liner notes here. They nail it, too...

This was truly an extraordinary passage. From beginning to end, "Passage To The Forest Of Mysterious & Birds" is a celebration of Karfagen's legacy and a sweet spoonful of nostalgia for it's fans. The first half embodying both aspects best, reviving familiar themes and ideas as phoenixes to fly along the new flock. The second being a more than worthy expansion and observation of the classic "Birds Of Passage", re-freshed, re-mused, re-fused. My endless respect to Antony's passion for his work.

As with previous releases this is a solid album from start to finish which continues the storyline, themes and signatures perfectly. 'Enigma' and 'Another Same' are on par with or superior to many commercial offerings by established prog artists. The Waters, Wilson and Hayward influences shine through once more but I also hear song writing very much in the style of Difford and Tilbrook, 'Trough of War' & 'Another Same' probably being the best examples. These chaps are the real deal!
